The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) this week welcomed a delegation of Slovenian sports leaders to its headquarters in Budapest for a productive discussion on the development of teqball and para teqball in Slovenia.

FITEQ President Gábor Borsányi and General Secretary Marius Vizer Jr met with Olympic Committee of Slovenia Association of Sports Federations President Bogdan Gabrovec, and the country’s Teqball Federation President Željko Gabrovec.

The visit began with a sporting demonstration led by FITEQ’s team of sport instructors, and was followed by in-depth discussions on plans for the future of teqball and para teqball in the country. With teqball set to feature as a medal sport at the European Games 2023, FITEQ and the delegation from Slovenia spoke about support programmes that can be implemented to assist the country’s elite level players in the build-up to the event.

There were also detailed discussions about how FITEQ’s youth-focused and inclusive sport can help children in Slovenian schools be more active, particularly following the recently published youth teqball rules, and how local clubs can provide additional sporting opportunities in the country, especially for women and parasport athletes.
