Teqball India Hosts National Championships In Tamil Nadu
Teqball’s continued growth throughout Asia was on display in India in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, where the 2022 Open Teqball National Championships took place on 29-31 May.
The event, which was organised by the Tamil Nadu Teqball Association in collaboration with FITEQ, took place at the KSR Educational Institutions and saw over 100 matches played across men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. One para-athlete also competed in the event.
Six teams took part in the women’s doubles category, with Mumbai representatives Bhumi and Shiza taking home the gold medal with a victory over Aditi and Akshita in the final.
The men’s doubles event was contested by 32 teams in a league come knock-out structure. Eventually, Anans and Declan from Mumbai took home first place, with Glenn and Libin finishing runners up ahead of Meet and Sahil in third place.
In the mixed doubles, Bhumi and Anas teamed up to take first place, with Shiza and Glenn finishing in second ahead of both Aditi and Vinit, and Dhanashekhar and Harini who shared third place.
