The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) has announced the qualification system for the teqball competition at the European Games Krakow Malopolska 2023, which takes place from 21 June - 2 July 2023. The sport is making its debut at Europe’s premier multisport event, organised by the European Olympic Committees (EOC), with men’s and women’s singles and doubles, and mixed doubles set to feature.

There will be 72 athletes in total with complete gender equality (36 women and 36 men). The host National Olympic Committee (NOC), Poland, will receive four quota places (two women and two men), there will be eight universality places (four women and four men), and the remaining 60 athletes (30 women and 30 men) will secure their spot through FITEQ’s qualification pathway.

FITEQ has set the qualification period for the Games as 1 July 2022 - 31 March 2023. Athletes will be able to win FITEQ World Ranking points at four European Teqball Tour events within this time period. It is important to note that at the European Games, athletes will only be permitted to compete in a maximum of two event categories.

Following the qualification period, the 15 countries with the most FITEQ World Ranking points across all event categories will be allocated four quota places (two women and two men).

To be eligible to participate in the European Games 2023, athletes must have participated in at least 50% of the qualification events and comply with the eligibility criteria established by FITEQ. All athletes participating in teqball competitions at the European Games 2023 must be born on or before 31 March 2007. A maximum of two NOCs will receive four universality quota places (two women and two men). These will be allocated by the EOC in conjunction with FITEQ by the end of the qualification period. NOCs will be informed by FITEQ of the quota places obtained on 3 April 2023, and the final list of confirmed quota places will be announced on 2 May 2023.
