Teqball features at the European University Games in Poland
The European University Games 2022, an elite multisport event for students, is taking place in Lodz, Poland, from 17-30 July. This year event featured teqball as a demonstration sport for two days, helping build excitement amongst youth in the host country of next year’s European Games, where teqball will be a medal sport.
The Games involves more than 5,500 student athletes competing in over 20 sports, which gave teqball the perfect opportunity to reach and engage with the next generation of athletes and sports fans.
During the course of the two-day competition, fans and athletes from a wide range of sports saw some of Poland’s best players compete at the table, as well as getting the opportunity to test their own skills against each other.
The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) would like to thank the Polish Teqball Federation for helping to organise the demonstration, as well as the Lodz University of Technology for hosting such a successful event.
To continue the positive momentum built during this event, FITEQ will be donating a teqball table to Lodz University of Technology. Meanwhile, the University of Zagreb (Croatia) and Rey Juan Carlos University (Spain) will also receive tables for winning the men’s and women’s futsal competitions respectively.
Through participating at these continental events, teqball is able to engage with future players and fans as it continues to showcase why it is the world’s fastest growing sport.
