FITEQ hosts World Ethnosport Confederation at FITEQ HQ
President of the World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC) Mr Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan was welcomed to the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) Headquarters in Budapest on 14 August by FITEQ President, Gábor Borsányi; FITEQ Chairman, Viktor Huszár; and FITEQ Head of Diplomatic Relations and CSR, Gergely Murányi.
The WEC is an international institution based in Istanbul that aims to safeguard, promote, and popularize traditional sports and games, ensuring the protection and continuation of culturally important activities in the greater Turkic, central Asian, Anatolian, Japanese, Middle Eastern and other regions.
Teqball is now the youngest sport at the WEC, which hosts and organises events to bring historically important regional sports to a wider audience, stimulating growth and participation.
Gábor Borsányi said:
“It was a pleasure to meet with Mr Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, to discuss the important work done by the WEC, and explain our strategic goals for teqball. We are excited to work together and collaboratively grow teqball in the region.”
At the end of the meeting, FITEQ gifted Mr Erdoğan a Hungarian version of the Holy Quran, representing the outstanding relationship between Hungary and Turkey.
