Krakow World Series Attracts 27 Competing Nations
A total of 145 athletes from 27 countries competed at the World Series in Krakow, Poland on 14-17 September as they battled it out for the World Series title and a share of the $100,000 prize money.
The competition was held at Hala Cracovii / Maly Rynek and the unique sports venue provided the ultimate setting for world-class teqball.
Apor Györgydeák of Romania & Krisztina Ács of Hungary won the Men’s and Women’s Singles event.
Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles were won by Balázs Katz & Csaba Bányik of Hungary and Natalia Guitler & Rafaella Fontes of Brazil, respectively.
Hungary also took Gold in the Mixed Doubles with Lea Vasas & Ádám Bakó defeating their Hungarian counterparts.
The finals were broadcast live on Eurosport, highlighting the continuing popularity of teqball – the world’s fastest growing sport.
Teqball will return to Krakow next year to debut as an official medal sport at the European Games due to be held between June 21 – 2 July.
