Sao Paulo hosts para teqball training camp
The Brazilian Teqball Federation held a para teqball training camp in Sao Paulo from 1-8 September, with 10 athletes participating in the introductory sessions before competing in a tournament.
The participants were taught the rules of the game as well as techniques and tactics by coaches, which led to some competitive matchups.
Mauricio Juninho, one half of the winning doubles team, said:
“We played good games and a lot of rallies. Playing para teqball is sensational, it’s an interesting new challenge, I love playing. I really want to be a professional para teqball athlete and travel the world to compete with others.”
FITEQ would like to thank all the athletes and coaches who helped facilitate the event, with special mention to Matheus Tavares, Gabriel Eduardo and Mauricio for their particularly impressive performances.
The Sao Paulo Challenger also took place alongside this important para teqball event, making it a very exciting week for teqball in the city!
