FITEQ CSR project with Peace and Sport features on GAISF’s sustainability.sport portal
FITEQ is delighted to confirm that that the ongoing success of the Teqball in Zaatari Refugee Camp project has led to the initiative’s inclusion as a case study on GAISF’s sustainability.sport portal.
GAISF, supported by the International Olympic Committee, launched sustainability.sport in June 2020. The portal has been created to help further sport’s sustainability goals by providing a free tool where resources from the entire sports community can be collated onto one dedicated platform.
In April 2018, FITEQ signed a MoU with Peace and Sport in the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan, where Peace and Sport run the inspiring Live Together programme. Since then, both organisations have worked together to promote teqball as a tool for social development and equality. The project was organised around the concept of training the trainers, contributing to a long-term legacy of teqball participation in the camp.
“Sustainability is a core component of every single FITEQ project, especially our social impact programmes. We are therefore very proud that our joint project with Peace and Sport in the Zaatari Refugee Camp is featured on GAISF’s sustainability.sport portal,” said FITEQ Head of Diplomatic Relations and CSR Gergely Murányi. “GAISF is doing an excellent job in raising awareness of the importance of sustainability in all aspects of sport and encouraging organisations to take concrete action to show they can walk the walk, as well as talk the talk.”
