Teqball Presented at PanAm Games
Teqball continues to attract new fans following demonstrations at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. The event, which took place from 24 July to 11 August, is the largest sporting event ever hosted by Peru with 41 nations taking part in 419 events across 39 sports. Amongst the new fans of the sport is Panam Sports President Mr Neven Ilic, who put his skills to the test at the Teqball tables during the organisation’s General Assembly on the eve of the Games. Delegates from all 41 National Olympic Committees across North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean were treated to teqball displays throughout the day.
During the Games, spectators, athletes and team officials from across Pan America also had the chance to try teqball, with demonstrations taking place at the Athletes’ Village and the National Sports Village – VIDENA.
"We know that football is loved right throughout the Americas and so we feel it is a natural home for teqball given the many natural synergies and transferable skills between the two sports", said FITEQ Head of International Relations, Mr Marius Vizer Jr.
He added, "We are determined to provide more opportunities to play teqball throughout North, South and Central America and the Caribbean, and the support of Panam Sports will be instrumental to that aim."
