French football stars Gallas and Karembeu visit FITEQ ahead of UEFA EURO 2020 match
French football legends Christian Karembeu and William Gallas visited Teqball Co-Founders Gábor Borsányi, Viktor Huszár and György Gattyán before joining the FITEQ leadership for Hungary’s 1-1 draw with world champions France on 19 June. World Cup winner Karembeu and English Premier League star Gallas are both Teqball Ambassadors and play a key role in the global promotion of the sport.
Meanwhile, a crowd of passionate fans continue to enjoy teqball in the UEFA Festival Fan Zone next to Heroes’ Square in the Hungarian capital. The Fan Zone is located at City Park Ice Rink and Boating, next to the iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site. Throughout the tournament, thousands of fans have played the football-based sport, with FITEQ thrilled to see people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities try the innovative and inclusive sport.
In addition to the Teq tables, the Fan Zone has a wide-range of events, live music, food and screens showing matches, generating an electric atmosphere in Hungary’s sport-loving capital city. Meanwhile, Heroes’ Square has a 9m-tall footballer – the Budapest Spectacular – on display, adding to the festival feeling.
Teqball Co-Founders Gábor Borsányi (FITEQ President), Viktor Huszár (FITEQ Chairman) and György Gattyán (FITEQ Vice President) said, “It was a day that will last long in the memory and not just because of the result of the Hungary-France match! To welcome Christian Karembeu and William Gallas to the home of teqball and watch such a thrilling football match with two sporting legends is very special for us. They have both been incredible ambassadors over the past few years, helping us develop teqball into the world’s fastest growing sport. Christian and William will probably want to forget the result of the football quite quickly, but we hope they remember the energy and passion for teqball in Budapest, as it is something they have been, and will continue to be, a big part of.”
