A new leader emerged in the women’s doubles ranking

Kota's MVP performance in July shook up the rankings.

Two weeks after Teqball’s debut at the European Games, the schedule resumed with two tournaments where players were able to collect points in the World Rankings.

In women’s doubles, we have a new leader in Zsanett Janicsek, who overtook her partner, Lea Vasas at the top, courtesy of finishing 5th at the LA Teqball Tour alongside the Spaniard, Anna Gomez I Vila. With Vasas on her side, Janicsek won a silver medal in Esztergom later in July. Gomez I Vila is amongst the biggest risers by improving 15 spots, now standing at 59th. Interestingly, Carolyn Greco also passed her teammate, Margaret Osmundson for the 3rd, who missed the LA tournament, while Greco ended up with a bronze with her fellow American, Kimberly Baker.

As the only Argentinian in any FITEQ WR, Fiorella Pellegrini Boaglio cracked the top25, Anastasija Lemajic broke into the top40 and Tiffany Jackson continued to climb up in the rankings with another successful month.

Gabriella Kota should be named the MVP of this month after winning two bronzes (in LA) and two golds (in Esztergom). With this brilliant performance, she not only bettered her position by one in the women’s doubles but jumped 14 spots in the mixed doubles and starts August at the 23rd position. Fellow Hungarians Balazs Katz and Adam Blazsovics also moved up a lot by the former winning a gold and a bronze and the latter claiming a silver and a bronze in July. Nikola Mitro and Maja Umicevic made the final together in Esztergom, their 2nd place helped them to leapfrog Hugo Rabeux, who slid back to 10th by an early elimination in Esztergom.

We have only one change in the men’s doubles top10: Frenchman Julien Grondin joins Rabeaux after claiming the last spot from Dennis Correia. On the other hand, Correia’s compatriot Griffin Freeman showcased one of the biggest jumps in July with a 4th place in LA, and now sits at 48th after leaping 26 players. Martin Csereklye climbed 3 places and now closing in on the top15, he also moved up 26 spots and made it to the top50 in the mixed doubles. Bence Forgacs&Soma Cseri made it to the quarterfinals in Esztergom and it resulted in a 6-spot gain for them, and Bruno Milhomens is still on his way up with another 7-place improvement.

The club rankings remained the same as the newly formed Taksonyi Teqball Sport Egyesület leads ahead of Teqball Liman and GOBEK Teqball Team.

Expect an even bigger shakeup after the Asian Teqball Tour!

The FITEQ World Ranking list is refreshed after each month when the gained points will be added while the credits that came later than two years will be taken away.
