The Adriatic Teqball League made its debut with World Champions taking the gold home
Teqball continues to take steps to become a truly worldwide sport and this summer also brought great progression in this project. On the last weekend of July, the first Adriatic Teqball League tournament was organized on the beautiful promenade of Bar, Montenegro.
16 teams of the region competed in the league’s first-ever event and the field included familiar faces. World champions and men’s doubles ranking leaders Nikola Mitro and Bogdan Marojević from Serbia wrote history by winning the brand new series opener as they defeated home players Marko Žarković and Željko Janković by the score of 12:5, 12:6 in the final.
The organizers put emphasis on making the event attractive for everybody and was also treated as a high priority by local authorities. It was officially opened by the Municipality of Bar representative, Stevo Nikočević and was also attended by the Minister of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Vasilije Lalošević. An online giveaway was scheduled, too, with a lucky fan winning a TEQ Lite table.
The first edition of the Adriatic Teqball League resumes this weekend in Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia & Herzegovina. The third tournament will be held in Zadar, Croatia on 3 September, and the debut season ends in Skopje, North Macedonia on 23 September.
