World Champions extended their streak in Zadar
The Croatian city of Zadar hosted the annual Adriatic Teqball League’s fourth tournament (held on 3 September at the Forum, next to the church of St Donatus.), where 16 teams and 32 players competed for the title.
The best in Zadar was, once again, the TEQ Liman team (Serbia) and its representatives Bogdan Marojević and Nikola Mitro. In the finals, they beat Kurjaci (Montenegro), a team represented by Marko Žarković and Andrija Jovanović, with the result 12:4, 12:6.
The three-time World Champions dominated the event in the beautiful Croatian city as they still have not lost a set during the ATL. Kurjaci, however, had a tougher path to the final, as the Montenegrin unit needed a tiebreaker set against Stroj LOB, but eventually closed their opponents out to advance to the last round.
Also, courtesy of the students of a high school in Nova Gradiška, Croatia, the best-placed teams were awarded TEQ table replicas, made of recycled plastics.
In addition to the competition itself, side events were also carried out before and during the tournament. A TEQ table promotion was organized at the world-famous tourist landmark – Monument to the Sun, in which Croatian national team players – Dario Batalo and Filip Bungić participated. The duo from Nova Gradiška also played an exhibition match against Nikola Mitro and Bogdan Marojević.
Furthermore, the youngest fans were included in various activations and games, too.
Croatia will be the center of Teqball next weekend with the Teqball Tour coming to its final European stop, where Mitro and Marojevic will also show up.
