Pokwap &Dezsenyi show their talent at Euro Youth Teqball Cup

Slovakia organised the first Euro Youth Teqball Cup for underage teqers.

With 50 teqers, the first Euro Youth Teqball Cup was held in Presov, Slovakia together by the International Teqball Federation, the European Teqball Federation and the Slovakian Teqball Federation.

On the third weekend of November, a new event debuted in Slovakia, the Euro Youth Teqball Cup which was organised together with the Slovakian National Championships for U15 and U19 categories.

Altogether, more than 80 players were participating in the underage Teqball festival. From 12 countries, half a hundred talents competed for the trophies in five categories. At the age of 12, Martin Pizur from Slovakia was the youngest one.

Zsofia Dezsenyi had the stamina to play in three categories. Both in singles and mixed doubles, she finished first. Her only L came in the finals of women's doubles against the Danish duo, Nanna Kristensen and Mira Dahlmann. With that success, Kristensen showed the world that the surprise she caused at the European Games was not only a one-hit-wonder.

The 17-year-old Marek Pokwap was the unstoppable. The Polish youngster won both in men's singles and doubles along with Stefan Orlowski. The two-time European championships bronze medallist did not crack under the pressure as one of the highest-ranked players at FITEQ's World Ranking among the competitors.
