EMCA promoting Teqball across the EU
In the vibrant landscape of European sports, the European Multisport Club Association (EMCA) emerges as a beacon of unity, bringing together diverse multisport clubs under a common umbrella. The campaign, co-founded by the European Union helps to grow Teqball among well-known multisport clubs.
EMCA was founded with the primary goal of creating a platform where multisport clubs from various disciplines could collaborate, share resources, and collectively contribute to the growth of sports in Europe. Recognizing the unique challenges and opportunities faced by multisport entities, EMCA aims to facilitate dialogue, foster camaraderie, and enhance the overall development of the multisport community. As Teqball is one of the most inclusive sports ever, EMCA decided to work together with FITEQ to bring the beauty of the game to everyone in the old continent.
One of EMCA's strengths lies in its diverse membership, encompassing multisport clubs from a wide array of disciplines, including but not limited to only a few sports. This diversity not only reflects the richness of European sports culture but also allows for cross-disciplinary collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the promotion of a holistic approach to athlete development.
EMCA catalyzes collaboration among its member clubs and FITEQ joined too for the Teqball campaign. The movement includes organizing joint events, competitions, training camps, and education.
Gabriella Bascelli, Director of Marketing & Communications at EMCA highlighted that the collaboration between FITEQ and EMCA is crucial to educate the referees, coaches, and players among the multisport clubs who are part of the campaign.
“The project and collaboration with FITEQ is a dream come true. We discovered Teqball during the Covid-19 pandemic and it was a sport that gave us hope that we could carry on being active being a non-contact sport. The project has been successful since the beginning. As of now, 18 school PE teachers in 6 EU countries have followed the FITEQ coaching course and achieved their 1’ level coaching certifications. We look forward to organizing the first EU Teq Games with FITEQ”. says the director.
After the first year of the operation Feyenoord from the Netherlands, Levski Sofia from Bulgaria, Aalborg from Denmark, Hasdk Mladost from Croatia, Olympiacos from Greece, and the world's biggest multisport club, Lazio from Italy, are part of the movement.
"It is always an honor for FITEQ to enter into a collaboration with organizations who see the values Teqball brings on different levels, to athletes, sports enthusiasts, and communities." starts Reka Reichard, Sports Development Manager of FITEQ. "The project with EMCA is special as it builds a network on an international level, allowing athletes and technical experts to grow through education, and competitions, where the different styles of Teqball will surface. Both EMCA and FITEQ represent such drive and energy that we foresee our work to go beyond 2024 with much success."
