Kurjaci and Zarkovic dominated once again

Winter Tour Montenegro had its finale in Bijelo Polje where Marko Zarkovic and his team, Kurjaci stayed unbeaten.

In the picturesque town of Bijelo Polje, Montenegro, a significant chapter in the country's burgeoning love affair with Teqball recently unfolded. Teqball has been steadily gaining popularity across the globe, and Montenegro is no exception. In a bid to sustain the momentum and foster year-round competitiveness, the Teqball Federation of Montenegro embarked on a groundbreaking venture: the inaugural Winter Tour.

The Winter Tour Montenegro, a novel addition to the Teqball calendar in Montenegro, aimed to keep the spirit of competition alive even during the colder months. Its success was evident as enthusiasts and athletes alike gathered for the crowning event – the Winter Tour3, held at the Nikoljac sports hall on April 28.

As the final showdown of the 3rd indoor Montenegrin Teqball League tournament, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation and excitement. Participants vied for supremacy in two fiercely contested categories: Men’s Doubles and Men’s Singles.

In the Men’s Doubles category, the spotlight fell on the formidable team Kurjaci, comprising Marko Žarković and Andrija Jovanović. Their skilful display and unwavering determination saw them clinch the coveted title, reaffirming their status as forces to be reckoned with in the Teqball arena.

Meanwhile, in the Men's Singles category, Marko Žarković showcased his prowess, claiming the top spot with a display of finesse and athleticism that left spectators in awe. His mastery of the sport was undeniable as he emerged triumphant amidst stiff competition.

With 25 registrations across both categories, the tournament bore witness to a diverse array of talent, highlighting the growing popularity of Teqball in Montenegro. Among the participants, one name stood out – that of the 16-year-old prodigy, Ljumović. Despite his youth, Ljumović's remarkable skill and tenacity propelled him to the finals in both categories, a testament to the bright future of Teqball in Montenegro.

The success of the Winter Tour not only underscores the growing interest in Teqball but also reflects the dedication of the Teqball Federation of Montenegro to promoting and nurturing the sport. By introducing innovative initiatives like the Winter Tour, the federation has not only provided a platform for athletes to showcase their talents but also ensured that the flame of competition continues to burn brightly throughout the year.

As the curtains drew to a close on the Winter Tour3 in Bijelo Polje, it marked not just the culmination of a tournament but the beginning of a new chapter in Montenegro's Teqball journey. With enthusiasm running high and talent abounding, the future looks promising for Teqball enthusiasts in Montenegro as they continue to push the boundaries and elevate the sport to greater heights as the next Teqball Montenegro tournament will be held outdoors, in Ulcinj.
