Teqball was born 10 years ago
Today marks a significant milestone in the world of Teqball as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. Over the past decade, this dynamic and rapidly growing sport has achieved remarkable success, captivating the hearts of over 5000 players worldwide, establishing 156 national federations, and hosting six thrilling world championships.
Teqball's journey began with a dream, fueled by the passion and hard work of its founders. Mr. Gabor Borsanyi, who is also the president of the International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ), Mr. Viktor Huszar, Chairman of FITEQ and Mr. Gyorgy Gattyan. It was exactly ten years ago, on the opening day of the 2014 World Cup, that the first public video of Teqball was shared, signalling the start of an exhilarating and incomprehensible adventure. Reflecting on this journey, Mr. Gabor Borsanyi, President of FITEQ, shared his thoughts:
"Ten years ago, when we shared the first public video about Teqball on the opening day of the 2014 World Cup, we had no idea what an exciting and incomprehensible period was about to begin in our lives. It all started with a dream but continued with hard work and passion, which is still present in Teqball's life today. Since then, we have had 156 national associations, Teqball has become a Hungarikum, but most importantly, we have created value through sport, because those who play feel good and share positive energy. We will celebrate this milestone in Tulsa, USA during the Teqball World Series Tulsa which is the very first in the American continent."
The sport's innovative blend of football and table tennis quickly gained traction, attracting athletes and enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds. Teqball's unique appeal lies in its accessibility and the emphasis on skill, precision, and agility. The sport has provided a new platform for competition and fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among its players.
One of the key achievements in Teqball's history is the establishment of 156 national federations. This global network of associations has played a pivotal role in promoting and organizing the sport, ensuring that Teqball reaches enthusiasts in every corner of the world. The federations have been instrumental in nurturing local talent, organizing national tournaments, and creating pathways for players to compete internationally.
The six world championships held to date have been spectacular showcases of Teqball's growth and popularity. These events have brought together the best players from around the globe, displaying incredible skill and sportsmanship. Each championship has been a testament to the sport's evolution and the dedication of its players and organizers.
Teqball's impact extends beyond the competitive arena. The sport has become a symbol of positive energy and joy, with players often describing the exhilaration and sense of well-being they experience on the Teqball table. This positive influence is a core value that Teqball's founders envisioned and continues to promote.
FITEQ is always watching closely the trends and its players', and partners' needs which creates constant evolvement. In 2024, Teqball's governing body implemented the Best Female/Male Award of the Event Award to appreciate the players' hard work and effort.
As Teqball celebrates its 10th anniversary, it is clear that the sport has come a long way from its humble beginnings. The journey has been marked by significant achievements, but the essence of Teqball remains rooted in the passion and hard work that fueled its inception. Looking ahead, the future of Teqball promises even more excitement and growth, as the sport continues to inspire and connect people worldwide.
In celebrating this milestone, the Teqball community reflects on the incredible journey so far and looks forward to many more years of growth, innovation, and positive impact through sport. Here's to the next decade of Teqball!
