MTL continued in Zabljak with style
The picturesque town of Žabljak in Montenegro came alive with excitement on Saturday, July 12 & 13, as it hosted the highly anticipated Montenegrin Teqball League's fifth stop in Žabljak. Held at the iconic Trg Durmitorskih Ratnika, the event attracted Teqball enthusiasts and competitors from across the region, highlighting the sport's growing popularity.
The tournament was officially opened by Mr. Radoš Žugić, the Mayorof the Municipality of Žabljak. In his opening remarks, Mr. Žugić expressed his enthusiasm for hosting such a prestigious event and emphasized the importance of promoting sports and healthy lifestyles within the community. His support underscored the significance of the tournament and the municipality's commitment to fostering athletic talent.
The tournament featured fierce competition in two main categories: Men’s Doubles and Men’s Singles. In MD category, Teqball Budućnost represented by Marko Žarković and Andrija Ljumović, retook the throne after the silver medal in Herceg Novi. This was their fourth victory in the season, this time they secured the triumph against Steqers.
Marko Žarković's prowess was further showcased as he clinched the title in the Men’s Singles category as well, making him the tournament's standout player. In the final, he avenged the loss at the previous tournament against Veljko Ljumović and won without any set loss.
The excitement didn’t end with the main event. On the second day of the tournament, a special children's program was implemented, introducing the younger generation to the sport of Teqball. The multifunctionality of the TEQ table was highlighted as children had the opportunity to try not only Teqball but other TEQ sports too.
