BODA and FITEQ forged a new alliance
On July 23, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA) and the International Teqball Federation at the Beijing Olympic Museum. The signing ceremony was attended by Gao Yunchao, Deputy Director of the Beijing Olympic City Development Association, Laszlo Vajda, Secretary General of the International Teqball Federation, and Yang Haibin, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau.
Laszlo Vajda highlighted the collaboration's goal to promote Teqball and strengthen sports and cultural ties between China and the sport. The cooperation includes hosting of the Teqball World Series Beijing from September 20 to 22, 2024, at the South Gate Square of Beijing Olympic Park, featuring over 120 athletes and 80 teams competing for a total prize of $60,000.
The partnership aims to enhance Teqball promotion, event organization, talent training, and cultural exchange. It signifies a new chapter for Beijing, enhancing its status as a "double Olympic city" and boosting sports and cultural exchanges.
On the same day, the Beijing Teqball Association held its first membership meeting, where the association's preparatory work were reviewed and approved. The meeting elected Yang Ping as president, with Shuai Jiang, Bai Shan, and Lu Zhongda as vice presidents, and Meng Qingnan as the chairman of the board of supervisors. Yang Ping emphasized the association's commitment to promoting Teqball and providing professional services to its members.
Laszlo Vajda and Yang Haibin expressed their support and high expectations for the association's future role in Beijing's sports development and international cooperation. The establishment of the Beijing Teqball Association marks a significant step in the growth of Teqball in China, promising further collaboration with the International Teqball Federation to promote the sport globally.
