WR – New leader in women’s doubles

With four international events in July, FITEQ World Ranking changed accordingly with one historical takeover.

In 2024 as the new World Ranking policies influence not only the international events but the domestic ones too, players can collect WR points even on the Tier V. tournaments. On the other hand, with the currently implemented categorisation, the four rendez-vous held in July provided a great opportunity to gather points. Teqball World Series Qingdao (Tier III.) with Thai dominance, Presov Teqball Cup (Tier IV.) where Adrian Duszak debuted in 2024, in Portugal at the King&Queen of the Table (Tier V) the French duo Amelie Julian & Hugo Rabeux showed their potential, and  Zilina Teqball Open (Tier V,) which could have been also Tier IV,  but the regulation allows only one upgrade per country and as Presov was organized earlier it stayed as it is.

The FITEQ World Ranking’s points from European Teqball Tour Naples – 2022 have been subtracted which effected Nikola Mitro (SRB) mostly in men’s singles who reached the Quarterfinals in Italy two years ago. With these changes, Mitro dropped back 8 to the 50th position. Apor Gyorgydeak (ROU) still leads the table confidently with 7906 points.

In women’s singles, Queen of Teqball in 2021, Anna Izsak is on the top. The biggest leap to the top 50 came from Chiao-hsin Yen (TPE) who finished with bronze at Presov Teqball Cup as her career’s best-ever, and fifth at Zilina Teqball Cup. With her great performance, she jumped ahead 5 places to the 35th. Adriana Kecerova representing Slovakia also leaped a big one after two 5th positions in July. The Slovakian is now at 43rd after she bettered her position with 4. Agnieszka Rybicka (POL) was the only one who moved ahead from the top 30 after her silver medal in Presov.

Balazs Katz has the same points as his compatriot Csaba Banyik in men’s doubles. The Hungarians have 12.213, giving them a comfortable lead ahead of the three-time world champion Nikola Mitro (3rd) and Bogdan Marojevic (4th). Mitro has 6916 while Marojevic has 6244 points. Boonkoom Tipwong (THA) is in great form as he triumphed back-to-back at Teqball World Series event. After Quy Nhon in June, he was once again unstoppable with his partner Phakpong Dejaroen in Qingdao. The new title meant 9 spots and currently owns the 14th. Rabeux conceded the biggest loss as his points from Naples no longer count, and stepped back to the 23rd place (-8).

There is a new leader in women’s doubles after multiple Teqball Tour winner Gabriella Kota (HUN) took the top of the ladder. With her silver medal along with Krisztina Acs (HUN) in Qingdao and the minus points from Carolyn Greco (USA), Zsanett Janicsek (HUN) and Lea Vasas (HUN) Kota jumped ahead 3 positions. Naples’ bronze medalists Anna Izsak/Boglarka Nagy (HUN) moved back on the WR. While Izsak lost 14 positions, Nagy 10. With another success in Qingdao, the unbeaten double from Thailand Jutatip Kuntatong/Suphawadi Wongkhamchan are now in the top 10.

With the 3rd place at Teqball World Series Qingdao, Acs is now the 4th taking over Vania Moraes da Cruz (BRA). The world champions of 2023, Dejaroen/Wongkhamchan in mixed doubles entered the top 10 after the shared points in China due to weather. This meant the first victory for Sudarat Thongkot (THA) at her fifth international Teqball event. Because of the same reason, Tipwong got to the top 50 after moving ahead 115 places.

In August, the series of international events continue with the OSiR Kobyłka Teqball Cup IV on August 17-18 with five categories, Lithuanian Teqball Open – 2nd stage on August 24 where male athletes will compete in singles and doubles, and Santarém International Teqball Cup right at the end of the Summer between August 31 to September 1. In Portugal, doubles will face each other. The national qualifiers will come to an end in August as the Romanian and US Qualifiers also finish.

The FITEQ World Ranking list is refreshed after each month when the gained points will be added while the credits that came later than two years will be taken away.
