Challenger Teqball League - unique opportunity for grassroots talents across Europe

FITEQ launches the Challenger Teqball League with five events in 2024, a dynamic new tournament series aimed at nurturing grassroots talent.

Challenger Teqball League will span five events across four picturesque cities in Europe, providing a perfect blend of competition and cultural experience for participants and spectators alike.

The International Federation of Teqball and its partners started to work on this project in 2023 to create a platform for grassroots development and to gain experience both by the players and the national federations. At each competition, the minimum price money is 3000€ and the participants will compete in at least three different categories.

Five events will be held as part of the Challenger Teqball League. FITEQ's newest tournament is set to kick off in Portugal at Challenger Teqball League - Santarém Cup from August 30th to September 1st. Known as the "Capital of Gothic," Santarém offers a stunning backdrop with its historic architecture, charming cobblestone streets, and the serene beauty of the Tagus River. This is also going to be the last act of the packed Teqball summer season.

Another well-known city from the Iberian peninsula will host the second rendez-vous. Challenger Teqball League - Malaga Marca Cup will be part of the Marca Sports Weekend 2024, a series of sporting activities in the city organized by one of the most prestigious local sports media outlets, Marca.  From October 11th to 13th, the tournament will be a thrilling blend of intense competition and the city's famous Mediterranean atmosphere.

Next, the league travels to Szombathely, Hungary, from October 25th to 27th. The city is close to the Austrian and Slovakian borders, thus reaching it is relatively easy and quick from the neighbouring countries. Hungary was an obvious choice for the Challenger Teqball League - Szombathely Cup as Teqball returns home and FITEQ is also based in the capital of the country. Szombathely is already very rich in sports heritage and Teqball will add to it.

As one the most active clubs in talent management, GOBEK Teqball Team is based in Odorheiu Secuiesc not to mention that the current FITEQ World Ranking leader and world champion of 2022 in men's singles, Apor Gyorgydeak is also part of the team, the fourth event found its home easily. Challenger Teqball League - Székelyudvarhely Cup from November 8th to 10th will be a great showdown just before the final event of 2024. Because of the location, many athletes are expected from multiple nations.

Finally, the Challenger Teqball League will conclude in Badalona, Spain, from November 22nd to 24th. Located just outside Barcelona, Badalona is famous for its beautiful beaches and vibrant Catalan culture.  Challenger Teqball League - Badalona Cup promises to be an exhilarating finale, with the Mediterranean Sea as a stunning backdrop to the closing matches.

"The Challenger Teqball League is more than just a series of tournaments; it is a strategic initiative by FITEQ to provide Tier IV and V tournaments, specifically designed for grassroots players and for national federations to gain experience in hosting events. With a minimum of three categories organized at each event, participants will have ample opportunity to showcase their abilities and compete against peers from across the globe." emphasized the importance of Challenger Teqball League Bela Muller, Head of Communications at FITEQ. "FITEQ is committed to fostering the growth of Teqball at every level, the Challenger Teqball League is a testament to our dedication to providing platforms for multiple seasons where players of all skill levels can thrive and reach their full potential. We're excited to see the future stars of Teqball emerge from Challenger Teqball League."
