The second academic year of Teqball starts at CUPES
Just before the start of FITEQ's second biggest event in 2024, the Teqball World Series Beijing, Capital University of Physical Education (CUPES) announced the second semester of Teqball.
People's Republic of China is one step closer to become a powerhouse in Teqball. Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA) and CUPES are working continously hard to set Teqball as one of the most liked and played sport in the country. After two succesful semesters at the university with the total of 40 students as the elective class is limited to 20 people "Teqball Theory and Practice" can be once again choosen by the insitution' students.
"We hope to use the platform of the Research Center to draft the first university Teqball course handbook and help more universities to implement the Teqball elective course." emphasized Mr. Chen Yazhong, Director of Football Teaching and Research Section. "As for the future planning, we are looking forward to the formation of the first Teqball university team."
As the next step of Chinese Teqball development, FITEQ, together with BODA and the university will present Teqball's first research center in the world on September 20 in Beijing.
On the other hand, CUPES also held the very first event for its students, the Beijing Teqball Challenge in October 2023 with 35 players in four categories.
China uniquely hosts two Teqball World Series events in 2024. While Qingdao gave home for the second time after the debut in 2023 while the "Dual Olympic City" welcomes the best Teqball players of world for the first time. Multiple world champions along with 32 Chinese athletes will face each other in the Olympic Park, the symbol of Beijing's rich sporting heritage from September 20 to 22.
