FITEQ drives sport development and diplomacy in Kosovo
The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hungary donated Teq tables to the Municipalities of Prizren and Prishtina, as part of its ongoing effort to drive the growth of the sport globally and promote active and healthy lifestyles in the Republic of Kosovo.
Ceremonies were held in both Prishtina and Prizren to celebrate the table donations.
Director of Culture and the Director of Sports at the Municipality of Prishtina Mr. Adrian Berisha; Deputy Minister of Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Kosovo Mrs Daulina Osmani; Mayor of Prishtina Mr Shpend Ahmeti; Head of the Sports Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Mr István Iglói-Nagy; Official Representative of Teqball in Kosovo Mr Bashkim Hasani; and the Ambassador of Hungary H.E. Dr. József Bencze attended the events in Prishtina.
Mayor of Prizren Mr Mytaher Haskuka; Ambassador of Hungary H.E. Dr. József Bencze; Head of the Sports Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Mr István Iglói-Nagy; and the Official Representative of Teqball in Kosovo Mr Bashkim Hasani attended the events in Prizren. FITEQ General Secretary Marius Vizer Jr represented FITEQ at both events.
FITEQ General Secretary Marius Vizer Jr said, “Thank you to everyone in Prishtina and Prizren for making both events a huge success. Kosovo is incredibly passionate about football, and therefore we believe there is a huge opportunity to introduce teqball to more people and inspire the next generation of teqers in Kosovo.”
Following the handover ceremonies, coaches and referees completed education training courses as part of FITEQ’s ongoing development roadshow ahead of the European Games 2023 in Kraków, Poland.
