Teqball is part of HCMC's annual 'Healthy for the Nation’ week
Ho Chi Minh City has launched its annual ‘Healthy for the Nation’ week, themed ‘Youthful Strength, Healthy Nation,’ with a focus on promoting health, fitness, and a vibrant lifestyle for all residents and as World Teqball Championships 2024 will be held in Vietnam, Teqball became part of the movement.
The event’s opening ceremony on October 29th at Nguyen Hue Walking Street where the venues of WTC24 will be also built drew high-ranking officials, including Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc; Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Huynh Thanh Nhan; Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung; Deputy Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training Nguyen Hong Minh; Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Nam Nhan; and Mr. Gabor Lehocz, the Consul General of Hungary, who presented Teqball tables to representatives of 21 districts and Thu Duc City.

Running until November 3, the week-long program features a variety of activities, from sports competitions and fitness workshops to health check-ups, held across Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Lam Son Park, and Ben Bach Dang Park in District 1. Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Dung emphasized that physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle are crucial to building a resilient, prosperous nation, echoing the city’s support for the national campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho." The event aligns with initiatives like the “Healthy to Build a Career and Protect the Country” movement, underscoring the connection between personal well-being and national strength.

Among the week’s highlights are exhibitions displaying the evolution of Vietnamese sports over 75 years, covering sports nutrition, effective training, and achievements. Prominent activities showcase popular sports Teqball.
Through these diverse and immersive experiences, ‘Healthy for the Nation’ week aims to raise awareness of the benefits of physical fitness while fostering unity and a strong cultural identity in Ho Chi Minh City where this year's world champs start from December 4 until the 8th.
