New pathways through FITEQ’s updated event hosting program

FITEQ's new event system to boost Teqball growth with global event-hosting opportunities while U19 World Ranking will be also launched from 2025.

FITEQ’s new event registration system for 2025 offers fresh opportunities for grassroots Teqball development and competitive ranking. With six event tiers, including the prestigious World Teqball Championships, organizers can now easily host events and help players reach top rankings through the Host-an-Event platform.

In a strategic move to foster Teqball’s growth and expand opportunities for grassroots development, the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) has introduced an innovative event registration system for 2025. This new structure not only enhances accessibility for event organizers worldwide but also provides aspiring players with more avenues to gain FITEQ World Ranking points. These points can significantly impact a player’s journey toward the top-seeded rankings, ultimately paving the way to compete in Teqball’s elite championships, including the prestigious Teqball World Series, which boasts substantial prize money and international recognition. With these systems in place, more athletes and nations can participate in a single tournament, making the
events more dynamic and competitive.

A New Tier System to Empower Teqball's Development

FITEQ’s revised format introduces a tiered system, comprised of six event levels, each designed to cater to different levels of play and organizational scope. The hierarchy begins with the high-profile World Teqball Championships as Tier I, followed by Tier II events in the World Teqball Series (which can be Tier III as well), and Tier III events in the Teqball Tour. These top three tiers are FITEQ-organized and executed in collaboration with local organizing bodies, ensuring a robust structure and reach commercially. Additionally, Tier I.-III. events provide more FITEQ World Ranking points, prize money and global reach by TV, press and social media. However, at the World Teqball Championships the National Federations (NFs) will be awarded.

The tiers then extend to include grassroots-focused and national federation developing events with varying scopes and objectives:

  • Tier IV: The Challenger Teqball League, a new league that made its debut in 2024, offers a competitive platform for up-and-coming players to showcase their skills and gather valuable ranking points.
  • Tier V: Teqball Open, aimed at giving communities a chance to host international-level competitions with a lower entry threshold.
  • Tier VI: Teqball Cup and Teqball Youth Cup (for U19 players), targeting young and amateur level (the FITEQ WR Top 24 athletes in singles and Top 48 in doubles are not allowed to compete) athletes to help build Teqball’s future by encouraging early-stage competitive experience.

Host-an-Event: A Gateway to Global Event Organization

To simplify the process for organizations wishing to host Tier IV to VI events, FITEQ has launched a new Host-an-Event website. This platform allows prospective hosts to register their events directly through an accessible online form, marking a significant shift toward digital convenience and inclusivity. Event organizers looking to host international events in the first half of 2025 shall submit their applications through this platform, with a deadline set for the end of November 2024. Once submitted, FITEQ will review each event application, assessing the organizational standards, proposed structure, and potential impact on local Teqball growth.

Why This Change Matters for Teqball’s Global Reach

This updated system reflects FITEQ’s commitment to making Teqball accessible at every level while setting a path for ambitious players to reach the sport's top ranks. By offering more flexible hosting options and introducing a more systematic ranking path, FITEQ is actively working to grow the Teqball community worldwide. The availability of events at every tier allows players from diverse regions and backgrounds to participate, providing an inclusive foundation for the sport's competitive ecosystem.

Moreover, as more players accumulate points through these events, the competition for the Teqball World Series intensifies, elevating the overall quality of play in the sport. This tiered system ensures a steady pipeline of talent moving through the ranks, which promises an exciting future for Teqball enthusiasts and competitors alike.

In summary, FITEQ’s new event hosting and ranking system is a well-calculated step to empower grassroots development, fuel competition, and cultivate a thriving global Teqball community. For organizers and players eager to contribute to the sport’s growth, the Host-an-Event initiative opens up an unprecedented array of opportunities to bring Teqball to the world stage.
