Final decision on Gabriella Kota's case

FITEQ imposes 12-month suspension on Gabriella Kota for unsportsmanlike conduct.

FITEQ has announced disciplinary action against Gabriella Kota following her behavior at the Teqball World Series Budapest on October 3, 2024. The FITEQ Disciplinary Tribunal (FDT) imposed a 12-month ban from the events organized by Teqball's governing body, deemed reasonable and proportionate, with the following terms.

  • Active Suspension: Kota is banned from all FITEQ-related activities worldwide for six months, starting October 7, 2024, through April 7, 2025.
  • Probationary Period: An additional six-month suspension will be imposed if Kota commits another similar violation within a three-year probation period.

Additionally, Kota is required to complete 20 hours of Teqball community service by April 2025, which could involve coaching youth players or promoting sportsmanship. The FDT has also recommended she make a public apology and complete an integrity course through a sports organization.

As Kota qualified both in women's and mixed doubles and will not compete, the Hungarian Teqball Federation has the right the replace her.
