Jinan hosts the season's first Teqball World Series

Teqball World Series 2025 kicks off in Jinan, China with three categories.

The highly anticipated Teqball World Series 2025 will launch in Jinan, China. It will mark the first event of the new season at the highest level of the International Teqball Federation’s (FITEQ) competition portfolio. With a total prize pool of $30,000, this elite tournament will showcase top-tier talent across three categories: men's, women's, and mixed doubles.

Jinan, often called the "City of Springs," offers a spectacular backdrop for this prestigious event. Renowned for its natural artesian springs and rich cultural heritage, the city provides an ideal setting to elevate Teqball’s presence in China. Its dynamic blend of historical sites and modern infrastructure ensures a seamless experience for athletes and fans alike.

In a significant step toward fostering the growth of Teqball in China, FITEQ will host month-long educational courses leading up to the competition. These courses, conducted in collaboration with the Shandong Institute of Physical Education, aim to cultivate local talent and expand the sport’s reach. A key objective for local organizers is to ensure that at least 50% of the registered athletes hail from China, further strengthening the sport’s domestic footprint. China is already a key player in the Teqball world as the country hosted two events in 2024. The biggest one among TWS in Beijing, and one in Qingdao, while the World's first International Teqball Research Centre also opened its gates in the capital of China.

"We are very excited to welcome the international sports community to Jinan, as the Teqball World Series 2025 Jinan tour will be one of the premier international events introduced by the Shandong Provincial Sports Bureau this year also Teqball's first major event this season," said Zhang Yuhao, Director of Shandong Institute of Physical Education. He added "It is also the first time that the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) and the Shandong Institute of Physical Education will cooperate to establish an official Teqball training centre to educate high-level Chinese Teqball players down the road.  We hope that all of us together can host a top-level international sporting event and at the same time introduce the city of Jinan to the world."

The tournament will be held indoors, ensuring optimal playing conditions for all competitors. Preliminary rounds will take place on Friday and Saturday, setting the stage for the grand finals on Sunday. This format promises an action-packed weekend filled with exhilarating Teqball matches.

Jinan will host the first stop of the Teqball World Series 2025, which is poised to be a landmark event for the sport in China.
